Marshfield girls hockey shuts out Point/Rapids

STEVENS POINT – Morgan Larson and Molly Schuster each scored in the third period to lift the Marshfield girls hockey team to a 2-0 win over Point/Rapids on Friday night at Ice Hawks Arena.

Schuster scored on a power play and Larson added an empty net goal late in the game to lift the Tigers to the road win.

Marshfield moves to 11-6-1 overall and 8-1-1 in the Great Northern Conference. Point/Rapids, which could have moved into a tie for second place in the conference with a win over the Tigers, drops to 7-10-1 and 6-3-1 in the GNC.

Alexis Straughan had 14 saves for the Tigers. Emily Bubla had 24 for Point/Rapids.

Marshfield hosts Northern Edge on Monday. The game will be broadcast on WDLB-AM 1450 and wdlbwosq.com with pregame starting at 6:45 p.m.
