NEILLSVILLE – It took three days, but the Spencer baseball team finally finished off a 6-1 win over Neillsville in a WIAA Division 3 regional final on Friday at Neillsville High School.
The game started on Wednesday but was suspended by rain and teams were not able to finish the game until Friday.
Spencer (15-4) moves on to the Division 3 sectional at Riverdale High School in Muscoda on Tuesday. The Rockets will play Westby (18-4) in a semifinal at 11 a.m. Wisconsin Heights )(13-5) will take on Parkview (18-4) in the other semifinal at 1:15 p.m. The sectional championship is scheduled for 3:30 p.m. with the winner moving on the 2013 WIAA State Baseball Tournament in Appleton on June 11-13.
The sectional semifinal will be broadcast on WOSQ-FM 92.3 and wdlbwosq.com.
Neillsville finishes its season with an 11-3 record.
