Columbus Catholic softball held to one hit in loss at Owen-Withee

OWEN – The Marshfield Columbus Catholic softball team was held to one hit and lost 11-1 to Owen-Withee in a Cloverbelt Conference East Division game Tuesday.

The game was moved from Marshfield to Owen-Withee due to wet field conditions in Marshfield.

Columbus is now 0-2 overall and in the Cloverbelt East. The game was the season-opener for the Blackhawks.

Lauren Derfus had Columbus Catholic’s lone hit and Abby Baierl scored the Dons’ only run.

Baierl took the loss for the Dons, giving up three hits and walking eight in five innings. She struck out four.

Owen-Withee statistics were not provided.

Columbus is scheduled to play Loyal/Granton at Loyal on Thursday.
