Greenwood edges Columbus Catholic baseball

GREENWOOD – Marshfield Columbus Catholic scored a run in the top of the first inning but couldn’t muster another and lost 3-1 to Greenwood in a Cloverbelt Conference East Division baseball matchup Tuesday.

Greenwood responded with two runs in the bottom of the first and added another in the fourth to grab the win. Greenwood is now 8-5 and 8-2 in the Cloverbelt East. Columbus falls to 7-8 overall and in the conference.

Kienan McIntee and Jeremy Binder each had two hits for the Dons.

Binder took the loss, striking out four in a six-inning complete-game effort.

Columbus hosts Augusta on Thursday at Reeths Field.
