COLBY – Rachel Zastrow won three events and Spencer had three other winners to take the girls team title at the 2014 Eastern Cloverbelt Conference Track Meet on Tuesday at Colby High School.
Zastrow won the 100-meter hurdles in 16.96 seconds, the 300 hurdles in 50.11 seconds and the pole vault (9 feet, 9 inches) for the Rockets, who finished with 181.5 points. Neillsville/Granton was second with 159 points and Marshfield Columbus Catholic took third with 112.5 points.
Also winning for Spencer were the 1,600 relay team (4:24.13), Johanna Ellefson in the high jump (4-8) and Jordyn Wichlacz in the triple jump (32-2).
Alexandra Hutchison had a pair of wins for Columbus Catholic, taking first in the 100 (12.95) and the 200 (26.57). Also winning for the dons were the 400 relay team (53.39) and Hannah Stratman in the long jump (14-10).
Loyal won the boys team title with 155 points, with Marshfield Columbus Catholic third with 121 and Spencer fifth with 70.
Spencer won the 800 relay (1:37.92) and Noah Zastrow took first in the pole vault (11-0) for the Rockets’ two event victories.
Columbus Catholic’s only win for the boys came in the 400 relay (46.26). Christian Payant was second in the 300 hurdles (42.23), Jacob Puent took second in both the 200 (23.87) and the high jump (6-0) and Colubmus’ 1,600 (3:44.27) and 3,200 (9:30.71) relays also placed second.
Both Spencer and Columbus Catholic will compete at the WIAA Division 3 regional on May 27 at Edgar.
