Columbus Catholic soccer rips Wisconsin Valley Lutheran

KRONENWETTER –Sean McCarthy scored three goals and assisted on two others as the Columbus Catholic soccer team blasted Wisconsin Valley Lutheran 10-0 in a Mid-State Soccer Conference matchup Tuesday at Towering Pines Park.

Columbus improves to 4-0-2 overall and 3-0 in the Mid-State Conference. Wisconsin Valley Lutheran is 0-2 in the conference.

Tara Brock and Christian Payant each added two goals, Charles Payant had a goal and an assist, and Alexandra Hutchison and Evan Hansen also scored for the Dons.

Farid Torbey had two assists and Ryan Dieringer and Tyler Fuerlinger each added one assist in the win.

The Dons held a 27-2 advantage in shots on goal.

Columbus plays a nonconference game at Mauston on Thursday.
