WISCONSIN RAPIDS – The Auburndale volleyball used a balanced offensive attack to sweep Wisconsin Rapids Assumption 3-0 on Tuesday night at Assumption High School.
Auburndale won 25-17, 25-19, 25-11 to improve to 3-1 in the Marawood Conference South Division. Assumption is now 1-2.
Shannon Yahnke had eight kills, Jenna Peplinski added seven and Taylor Gotz and Ashley Peplinski each had five kills for the Apaches.
Setter Sydney Schmutzer served up 26 assists and the Apaches had 13 service aces, seven from Jenna Peplinski, in the victory.
Defensively, Hannah Castellano had 15 digs and Schmutzer added 10 for Auburndale.
Auburndale is off until next Tuesday when it hosts Marathon.
