AUBURNDALE – Marathon pitcher Alexandra Boehm scattered three hits and four walks to lead the Raiders to a 9-1 win over Auburndale in a Marawood Conference South Division game Tuesday at Auburndale High School.

Heather Nigh, Kayleigh Kundinger and Kari Willfahrt each had a hit to account for the Apaches’ offensive output. Jordan Binder had a walk and scored on an RBI out by Kayla Gotz for Auburndale’s lone run in the fifth inning.

Marathon (10-6, 8-4 Marawood South) scored six time over the first three innings to take control, and Boehm was able to rely on her defense to strand nine Auburndale runners.

“We had some solid connections tonight, but Marathon played great defense to steal the hits,” Auburndale coach Dawn Urban said. “We just couldn’t put the hits together to get the runners home.”

Auburndale (5-14, 2-11 Marawood South) returns to action Thursday at home against Wisconsin Rapids Assumption in its Marawood finale.
