WISCONSIN RAPIDS – The Marshfield Post 54 American Legion baseball team dropped its sixth-straight game, losing 3-0 to Wisconsin Rapids on Thursday night at Witter Field.

Wisconsin Rapids scored single tallies in the first, third and fifth innings to pull out the win in the game that was shortened to 5½ innings due to lightning.

Marshfield (7-8, 5-5 Wisconsin Valley Legion League) was held to two hits – singles by Ryan Krueger and Jake Brueggen – by Rapids’ pitcher Donovan Brandl, who struck out eight and walked five in a complete-game effort.

Connor Jasurda took the loss for Marshfield, surrendering 10 hits and three walks with three strikeouts.

Marshfield plays Green Bay Southwest at 5 p.m. Friday in the opening round of the Eau Claire Legion Tournament at Carson Park.
