EDGAR – The Stratford wrestling team finished off an unbeaten Marawood Conference dual-meet season with a 61-7 rout of Edgar on Thursday night at Edgar High School.
The Tigers won all but two matches, including five by pin and three by forfeit.
Manny Drexler earned a pin in just 15 seconds to win at 113 pounds and Jeremy Schoenherr (145) also had a pin in the first period for the Tigers.
Parker West (120), Jake Drexler (152) and Hector Rojas (285) also won by pin, Trevor Steiner (195) earned a major decision, and Kix Grabow (138) and Trevor Dennee (170) also won by decision for Stratford.
“I was very pleased with how the Tigers came out night,” Stratford coach Joe Schwabe said. “We had a few newer guys fill in and all three won their matches. The guys that needed to win the close ones did just that, and several went after some pins tonight.”
Stratford will try to finish off a fifth-straight overall conference title at the Marawood Conference Meet on Saturday at Athens High School.
