Marshfield girls golf fourth at Clover Valley meet

WISCONSIN RAPIDS – The Marshfield girls golf team finished fourth with a score of 431 at the first Clover Valley Golf League of the season Tuesday at the Ridges Golf Course.

Maggie Field led Marshfield with a 94, her best score on the young season. Kallie Mayer had a 110, Savannah Shortess had a 112, Macy Fitzgerald fired a 115 and Sara Sturomski shot a 133 for round out the scoring for the Tigers.

“I am proud of the girls for grinding out their rounds today and putting us right in the position we want to be after the first round,” Marshfield coach Jenessa Bonikowske said.

Eau Claire Regis won the meet with a 368, 17 shots better than Stevens Point.

Regis’ Katie Pokrandt was the meet medalist with an 81, two shots better than Osseo-Fairchild’s Addie Vold.

The second-round of the Clover Valley round-robin is Thursday, with Stanley-Boyd hosting at Whispering Pines Golf Course in Cadott.
