SPENCER – Nate Karau scored 23 points and Jack Bezlyk added 22 as the Spencer boys basketball team cruised past Colby 72-53 in its Cloverbelt Conference East Division finale on Friday night at Spencer High School.
Karau was 10 of 17 from the field and added 11 rebounds for the Rockets, who are now 10-11 overall and finish the Cloverbelt East season with an 8-8 record. Colby drops to 4-16 and 4-11 in the Cloverbelt East.
Spencer led 33-29 at halftime and busted the game open with a 15-point advantage in the second half.
The Rockets will finish their regular-season schedule with a Cloverbelt Conference crossover game at home on Feb. 22. Pairings for the WIAA playoffs, which begin Feb. 27, will be announced on Sunday.
