Marshfield boys basketball tops Pius XI in overtime at Waunakee Tournament

WAUNAKEE – Anthony Posteluk made 10 of 11 free throws and scored a game-high 20 points to help push the Marshfield boys basketball team to a 57-51 overtime win over Milwaukee Pius XI in the semifinals of the Waunakee Holiday Tournament on Friday at Waunakee High School.

The game was tight throughout as Marshfield led 29-28 at halftime and the Warriors got the point back in the second half, forcing overtime with the score tied 47-47.

Marshfield outscored Waunakee 11-5 in the extra period.

Joey Goettl added 13 points, and Addison Hill had eight points and seven rebounds for the Tigers, who improve to 4-3.

Ethan Hoenisch had five 3-pointers and had 15 points to lead Pius XI (1-5).

Marshfield will play Wauankee in the tournament championship game Saturday at 8:30 p.m.
