Auburndale wrestling loses home dual to Phillips

AUBURNDALE – Auburndale dropped its final Marawood Conference wrestling dual meet of the season to Phillips 48-22 on Tuesday night at Auburndale High School.

Auburndale won three of the five contested matches, but had to forfeit in seven weights, five resulting in losses. Two were weights where both teams had to forfeit.

Hunter Godard (126 pounds) and Sloan Welch (195) won by pin in the second period of their matches, and Dylan Baird earned a 14-4 major decision at 145 for Auburndale’s three match wins.

Noah Altmann also earned a win by forfeit at 120.

Auburndale will compete at the Marawood Conference Tournament on Saturday at Chequamegon High School in Park Falls.
