Urban scores four goals to lead Marshfield boys hockey in rout of D.C. Everest

SCHOFIELD – The Marshfield boys hockey team wrapped up its regular-season schedule with an 8-1 drubbing of D.C. Everest on Thursday night at the Greenheck Fieldhouse at D.C. Everest High School.

Marshfield scored three times in the first and third periods, and added two more in the second to dominate the Evergreens.

Marshfield finishes the regular season with a 13-10-1 record and a 5-5 mark in the Wisconsin Valley Conference. D.C. Everest ends up 12-9-2 and 6-3-1 in the Valley.

Nick Urban had a hat trick in the first period to help Marshfield cruise out to a 3-0 lead.

After Grant Oertel scored 4½ minutes into the second period for D.C. Everest, Preston Smith and Dominic Lange scored for Marshfield to make it 5-1.

Evan Weister, Noah Peterson and Urban added goals in the third period to finish off the victory.

Marshfield will host Waupaca in a WIAA regional final on Thursday, Feb. 20, at the Marshfield Area Ice Arena. The game will begin at 7 p.m.
