Spencer softball earns walk-off win over Owen-Withee

SPENCER – Cassidee Widmann knocked in Elexa Post with the winning run in the bottom of the seventh inning, lifting the Spencer softball team to a 5-4 over Owen-Withee in a Cloverbelt Conference East Division matchup Friday at Spencer High School.

Gorku singled home Halida to tie the game in the top of the seventh for the Blackhawks before Spencer rallied to win it and grab its first victory of the season. The Rockets are now 1-8 overall and 1-5 in conference play.

Widmann had two hits and two RBIs for Spencer.

Madison Knecht earned the win, giving up two runs in five innings of relief, for the Rockets.

Spencer hosts Nekoosa in a nonconference game Monday at 5 p.m.
