MARSHFIELD – The 2021 Wisconsin Baseball Association State Championship Tournament will be held Aug. 20-22 at Jack Hackman Field in Marshfield and Athletic Park in Merrill.
Pool play begins at Marshfield and Merrill on Friday, Aug. 20, with games at 6:30 p.m. and 9:30 p.m. Play continues at both parks on Saturday, Aug. 21, with games at 10:30 a.m., 1:30 p.m., 4:30 p.m. and 7:30 p.m.
Pool winners move on to the semifinals at Marshfield at 10 a.m. and 1 p.m. on Sunday, Aug. 22. The championship game will be at Marshfield at 4 p.m. All games played in Marshfield in the tournament will be live at zaleskisports.com.
The Marshfield Chaparrals will be competing in their second-straight state tournament after winning their playoff bracket last weekend in Haugen. The Chaps (15-12) open up against the River Falls Fighting Fish (35-6) at 6:30 p.m. Friday. With a win, Marshfield would play at 4:30 p.m. Saturday against Holmen. If the Chaps lose, they would play Holmen at 10:30 a.m.
Each team is guaranteed two games in the tournament. Tiebreakers used to decide which team moves on to the semifinals are runs allowed, run differential, then total runs scored.
