Auburndale boys basketball rolls past Pittsville

PITTSVILLE – The Auburndale boys basketball team jumped on Pittsville early and rolled to a 64-39 win in a nonconference game Friday night at Pittsville High School.

Auburndale led 38-23 by halftime and outscored Pittsville by 10 in the second half to win going away.

The Eagles even their record at 8-8, while Pittsville falls to 5-8.

Caden Weinfurter had 14 points, Alex Willfahrt added 12 with three 3-pointers, and Lucas Yeske had 12 points and 11 rebounds for Auburndale.

Sam Bowden scored 11 points and Jordan Denniston chipped in 10 for Pittsville.

Auburndale returns to action Tuesday at home against Wausau Newman Catholic in a Marawood Conference South Division contest. The game will be live-streamed at zaleskisports.com.

Pittsville is also back in action Tuesday, hosting Stevens Point Pacelli in a Central Wisconsin Conference South Division game.
