Nine Columbus Catholic players named to 2022 All-Central Wisconsin Conference Soccer Team

A total of nine players from conference co-champion Marshfield Columbus Catholic were chosen to the 2022 All-Central Wisconsin Conference Soccer Team, including four first-team picks.

The Dons, who tied Amherst for the conference title, were represented on the first team by unanimous selections Alex Edwards and Grant Olson, as well as Charlie Moore and Cy Becker.

Senior center defender Brandon Lang and junior goalkeeper Lucas Kreklau were among the second-team selections for Columbus Catholic, while freshmen Mason Edwards and Cade Jansen, and senior Mira Torbey were honorable mention choices.

Alex Edwards led the team in goals with 32 and tied Moore for the team lead in assists with 15. Olson had 15 goals and 13 assists, Moore added nine goals, and Mason Edwards had seven goals and three assists this season for the Dons.

Kreklau garnered 48 saves in 18 games in goal (1.74 per game average) as Columbus Catholic finished 14-4-1 overall and reached the WIAA Division 4 regional finals.

Amherst senior Drew Lewallen was named Player of the Year, and Erik Linde of Amherst as chosen as Coach of the Year.
