Four Marshfield athletes compete at 2022 WIAA State Girls Swimming Championships

WAUKESHA – Four Marshfield athletes competed at the 2022 WIAA State Girls Swimming Championships on Saturday at Waukesha South High School.

In the Division 1 portion of the meet, senior Faith Risa took part in two individual events and in a relay race with three Tigers teammates.

Risa finished 17th in the 100-yard breaststroke in 1:06.63 and 19th in the 200 individual medley in 2:13.32 as state meet record were set in both events. Campbell Stoll of Hartland Arrowhead won the 200 IM with a record swim of 1:56.37, and Brookfield East’s Lucy Thomas set a new record in the 100 breaststroke in a time of 58.89 seconds.

Terra Risa, Brooke Begotka and Skylar Onsager teamed with Faith Risa in the 200 medley relay, taking 18th place out of 24 teams in 1:52.19. Brookfield East won the race in 1:39.68.
