Marshfield girls basketball dominates second half to pull past St. Croix Central

MARSHFIELD – The Marshfield girls basketball team clamped down defensively in the second half, holding St. Croix Central to just 15 points, and pulled away for a 61-41 victory in nonconference action Saturday afternoon at Marshfield High School.

The Tigers led 29-26 at halftime before outscoring St. Croix Central by 17 in the second half to earn the victory and keep their undefeated season intact as they improve to 8-0.

Dani Minsaas was 12 of 18 from the field and scored a game-high 26 points to lead the way for Marshfield. Ayana Bousum added 16 on the strength of three 3-pointers.

Eisah Rubis led St. Croix Central (4-3) with 12 points.

Marshfield hosts Wausau East in a Wisconsin Valley Conference game on Tuesday at 7:15 p.m.
