HUDSON – Marshfield divers Alik Martin and Shaun Hunter, as well as the Tigers’ 200-yard freestyle relay team, are moving on to the state meet after earning high finishes at the WIAA Division 1 Boys Swimming and Diving Sectional on Friday and Saturday at Hudson Middle School.

In the diving competition Friday night, Martin finished second with a new school record of 450.85 points, and Hunter was sixth with 350.75 points to earn spots at the 2023 WIAA State Boys Swimming and Diving Championships next Saturday, Feb. 18, at Waukesha South High School.

Also qualifying for state for the Tigers was the 200 freestyle relay team of Simon Dagit, Carson Klumb, Kyle Berres and Henry Hilbelink, which finished fourth in 1:33.00. This is the second time in three seasons Marshfield has had a 200 freestyle relay team qualify for state, the last time including Berres as well.
