Four-run seventh propels Auburndale softball past Marathon

MARATHON – Erin Griesbach hit a solo home run in the top of the seventh inning to break open a tie game and lift the Auburndale softball team to an 8-4 win over Marathon on Tuesday at Marathon High School.

The game was tied 4-4 before Griesbach’s long ball started a four-run rally for the Eagles. Ashlyn Grimm finished off the win with a scoreless seventh.

Mya Krings had a double and a triple and drove in two runs, and Griesbach also had two RBI for Auburndale (10-3, 6-3 Marawood Conference South Division).

The two teams will play again Thursday at Auburndale. The game will be the Eagles’ final conference game of the season.
