Auburndale baseball blanks Tigerton

AUBURNDALE – Aden Cherney and Caden Weinfurter combined on a one-hit shutout as the Auburndale baseball team shut out Tigerton 8-0 in a nonconference matchup Tuesday at Auburndale High School.

Cherney allowed just one hit in three innings, striking out two, while Weinfurter picked up the victory with four hitless innings of relief while striking out eight.

Sloan Welch, Blake Raab, Weinfurter and Kaden Anderson all had two hits, with Welch driving in a pair of runs for the Eagles (11-6).

Auburndale plays a nonconference game at Marshfield Columbus Catholic on Thursday. The game will be at Jack Hackman Field beginning at 5 p.m.
