Columbus Catholic softball dominates Spencer

SPENCER – Nine different Columbus Catholic players scored runs as the Dons made quick work of Spencer, rolling to an 18-0 victory in three innings in a Cloverbelt Conference East Division softball matchup Tuesday at Spencer High School.

Rhya Dieringer had a double, a home run and drove in five runs, and Cierra Dieringer had two hits and three RBI for the Dons, who are now 14-4 overall and 10-1 in the Cloverbelt Conference East Division.

Spencer falls to 0-19 overall and ends its Cloverbelt East season at 0-12. The Rockets will play a WIAA Division 4 regional quarterfinal at Montello on Thursday.

Columbus Catholic will finish its conference schedule at home against Gilman on Thursday at the Marshfield Fairgrounds. The Dons need a victory to tie Neillsville for the Cloverbelt East championship.
