Marshfield girls track team repeats as Wisconsin Valley Conference champions

WISCONSIN RAPIDS – The Marshfield girls won six events and repeated as champions at the 2023 Wisconsin Valley Conference Track & Field Meet on Tuesday at Lincoln High School.

The Tigers racked up 175 points to outdistance Stevens Point (142) and D.C. Everest (141) for their second-straight title.

Stevens Point won the boys title for the 11th-straight season, finishing with 240 points. D.C. Everest was second with 147 and Marshfield sixth among the seven teams with 67 points.

Aubri Brown was a double-winner for the Marshfield girls, taking first in the discus with a throw of 117 feet, 5 inches, and the shot put with a toss of 37-11.

Casey Dasler won the pole vault (9-9), Danielle Minsaas was first in the high jump (5-0), Michaela Dick took first in the 400 meters (59.11 seconds), and the 800 relay team of Ellie Jensen, Lucy Luedtke, Olivia Page and Gracie Ridgway won in 1:47.37 for the Tigers.

Gracie Ridgway also took second in the high jump (4-10), Luedtke was second in the 300 hurdles (50.58), Natalie Scharenbroch was the runner-up in the 3,200 (12:21.92), and the 1,600 relay team of Jensen, Brooke Sternweis, Ella Allar and Dick finished second in 4:11.32 for Marshfield.

The Marshfield boys did not have any conference champions, but senior Luke LeMoine had a pair of runner-up finishes.

LeMoine was second in both the long jump (21-3) and the 300 hurdles (40.87) for the Tigers.

Marshfield also had third-place finishes from Trevor Foemmel in the 300 hurdles (41.28) and Noah Peterson in the shot put (48-7).

Marshfield will host a WIAA Division 1 regional on Monday at Heiting Community Stadium.
