EDGAR – Edgar made six of seven free throws in overtime to provide the difference in a 46-41 victory over Stratford in a Marawood Conference South Division boys basketball game Monday at Edgar High School.

The game was tied at halftime and tight throughout. Stratford sent the game into overtime when Troy Mengel made a basket at the buzzer.

However, Edgar outscored the Tigers 10-5 in the extra period, taking advantage of Stratford’s 1-for-6 free-throw shooting.

Edgar improves to 2-3 overall and 2-2 in the Marawood South, while the Tigers, following their third-straight loss, falls to 2-4 and 1-3 in conference play.

Stratford hosts a tournament on Dec. 29 and 30. Lincoln Hills, Iola-Scandinavia and Owen-Withee will compete in the tournament.
