Stratford girls basketball dominates second half to finish off Prentice

STRATFORD – The Stratford girls basketball team held Prentice to just two made field goals in the second half and was able to pull away for a 53-32 win in a Marawood Conference crossover game Friday night at Stratford High School.

The Tigers led 24-20 at halftime before clamping down on Prentice in the second half, allowing just two made field goals and 12 points, while scoring 29 to cruise to the 21-point win.

Carly Pankratz made three 3-pointers and scored 15 points to lead Stratford, which improves to 2-1 overall and 2-0 in the Marawood South.

Kali Heikkinen scored 14 points for the Buccaneers (1-4, 1-2 Marawood North).

Stratford hosts Edgar for a Marawood South game Tuesday night at 7:15 p.m.
