Marshfield girls basketball snags road win at La Crosse Central

LA CROSSE – Ashley Grancorvitz scored 22 points and Ayana Bousum added a season-high 15 as the Marshfield girls basketball team held off La Crosse Central 59-47 in a nonconference game Friday night at Central High School.

Grancorvitz was 9-for-15 from the field, including three 3-pointers, and Bousum hit a pair of 3s and was 5-for-6 at the free throw line to pace the Tigers, who improve to 3-1 this season.

Marshfield held a 32-22 lead at halftime and were able to maintain its double-digit lead at the end.

Raella Schueller chipped in nine points and six rebounds, and Grancrovitz had a team-best nine rebounds in the win for the Tigers.

Marshfield will open its Wisconsin Valley Conference schedule at home against Merrill on Tuesday at 7:15 p.m.
