Columbus Catholic boys basketball rips Pacelli for seventh-straight win

STEVENS POINT – The Marshfield Columbus Catholic boys basketball team won its seventh game in a row with a dominating 75-51 nonconference victory over Stevens Point Pacelli on Monday at Pacelli High School.

The Dons opened up a nine-point lead by halftime and outscored Pacelli by 13 in the second half to finish off the win and improve to 15-1 this season.

Emmitt Konieczny scored 19 points, Blake Jakobi added 18, Cy Becker had 15, and Charlie Moore chipped in 12 points for the Dons.

Camden Schurk finished with 21 points for Pacelli (10-4).

Columbus Catholic hosts Neillsville on Thursday in a Cloverbelt Conference East Division battle of the top two teams in the conference. Columbus Catholic is 8-0 in conference play, with Neillsville in second place at 7-1. Game time is 7:15 p.m.
