Marshfield baseball, softball, girls soccer teams learn postseason seedings

The Marshfield softball, baseball and girls soccer teams have learned its seeding for the upcoming WIAA playoffs.

The Marshfield softball team (3-14) is the No. 7 seed in its regional and will play at Division 1 regional semifinal at Merrill (13-6) on Tuesday, May 31. The game, at Ottis Park, will start at 5 p.m.

The Tigers finish their regular season Thursday at home against Wausau West, while Merrill plays at D.C. Everest.

The winner of the Marshfield-Merrill game moves into a regional final on June 2 against the winner of the No. 3 Antigo-No. 6 Wausau East game. The highest seed will host the game.

The Marshfield baseball team (14-4), which wraps up its regular season Thursday at Wausau West, earned a No. 4 seed and a first-round bye in the playoffs.

The Tigers will host the winner of the River Falls-Menomonie game in a Division 1 regional final Friday, June 3, at Jack Hackman Field. First pitch is slated for 4:30 p.m.

The winner of the regional final moves into the sectional tournament, which will be held at Witter Field in Wisconsin Rapids on Tuesday, June 7. The semifinals are scheduled for 11 a.m. and 2 p.m., with the sectional final at 5 p.m.

The Marshfield girls soccer team (11-7) is a No. 2 seed and will host No. 7 Antigo in a WIAA Division 1 regional semifinal on June 2. The game begins at 5 p.m. at Griese Park.
