Merrill sends Marshfield baseball to third-straight loss

MARSHFIELD – Merrill scored 10 runs in the final three innings and handed the Marshfield baseball team its third-straight loss, winning 11-2 on Friday at Jack Hackman Field.

Jakob Sadowska had a two-run single in the third inning to give Marshfield a 2-1 lead but it soon unraveled for the Tigers.

Merrill pulled ahead with a three-run fifth, and Marshfield committed four errors in a six-run sixth as the Bluejays (5-6, 1-5 Wisconsin Valley Conference) went on to finish off their first conference victory of the season.

Isaak Clapper had three hits and drove in two for Merrill.

Marshfield (2-6, 2-2 WVC) will host Eau Claire North for a doubleheader Saturday at Hackman Field beginning at 11 a.m.
