MENOMONIE – The Marshfield boys basketball team had its three-game winning streak snapped after a weak offensive performance, losing 50-28 to Menomonie at the Big Rivers-Wisconsin Valley Conference Challenge on Saturday night at Menomonie High School.

The Tigers scored just four points in the first half and trailed 22-4 at the break.

Overall, Marshfield shot just 9 of 35 from the field and 2 of 17 from 3-point range. The loss came on the heels of the Tigers scoring a season-high 68 points in a win over Hudson on Friday.

The Tigers fall to 6-4 with the loss, while Menomonie improves to 6-3.

Luke Zuiker had eight points to top Marshfield.

The Tigers return to action Jan. 3 with a nonconference home game against Baraboo.
