WISCONSIN DELLS – The University of Wisconsin-Marshfield/Wood County women’s basketball team had its season come to an end with a 63-55 loss to UW-Rock County in a Wisconsin Collegiate Conference state semifinal on Saturday at Just-A-Game Fieldhouse on Saturday.
McKenzie Trunkel and Rachel Herdrich each scored 17 points and Herdrich added 16 rebounds in the loss for the Marauders, who finish with a 12-9 record.
Rock County led 39-32 at halftime and were able to hold off the Marauders the rest of the way.
Rock County shot just 33.3 percent (24 of 72), but had 24 offensive rebounds and were able to get up 17 more shots than UW-Marshfield/Wood County.
Lexie Wiegand had 19 points for UW-Rock County.
UW-Waukesha defeated UW-Rock County 69-68 in the WCC state championship game on Sunday.
