Stevens Point tops Marshfield in battle of WVC baseball unbeatens

PLOVER – Stevens Point scored three runs in the bottom of the first inning and got solid pitching from Cal Giese to beat Marshfield 4-0 in a battle of Wisconsin Valley Conference baseball unbeatens on Thursday at Memorial Park.

Stevens Point improves to 7-1 overall and remains as the lone undefeated team in the Valley at 3-0. Marshfield drops to 6-2 and 2-1 in the conference.

Jack Donahue took the loss for Marshfield. He also added a double at the plate.

Marshfield is scheduled to play at nonconference doubleheader at home Saturday.
