MARSHFIELD – The Marshfield volleyball team went 3-2 to finish third at the Marshfield Tournament on Saturday at Marshfield High School.
The Tigers opened with a loss to Altoona (25-23, 25-19) before responding with wins over Rhinelander (25-13, 25-12), Superior (25-11, 19-25, 15-7) and Medford (25-19, 25-14). Marshfield lost its final match to Wauwatosa West (25-21, 25-23).
Altoona finished undefeated at 5-0, with Wauwatosa West second at 4-1.
Stephanie Rhodes had 36 kills and 10 blocks, Natalie Zuelke added 22 kills and Lauren Gilbertson had eight blocks for the Tigers.
Sara Dasler had 56 assists and 34 digs, Jenny Scheppler had a team-high 37 digs, and Anna Ripp added 38 assists for Marshfield.
Marshfield hosts D.C. Everest at 7 p.m. Thursday.
