Wausau East wins each event to beat Marshfield girls swim team

MARSHFIELD – Wausau East won all 11 events and Sarah Kane set a new Marshfield High School pool record in the 100 breastroke as the Lumberjacks downed Marshfield 128-42 in a Wisconsin Valley Conference dual meet Thursday.

Kane won the 100 breaststroke in 1:09.18, beating a 15-year-old pool record of 1:09.78 that was set by Marshfield’s Mariah Alf in 1999.

Marshfield got second-place individual finishes from Sarah Claessens in the 200 freestyle (2:11.18), Sophie Koehn in the 50 free (27.63), and Megan Donahue in the 100 free (1:00.63).

Marshfield is now 1-3 in WVC dual meets, while East remains unbeaten at 3-0.

The Tigers next meet is next Thursday at Wausau West.
