AUBURNDALE – Caleb Weinfurter had three hits and two RBIs, and earned the save on the mound as the Auburndale baseball team upended Marathon 7-4 in a Marawood Conference South Division game Tuesday at Auburndale High School.
Auburndale led 5-4 after 2½ innings before putting the game away with two runs in the fifth.
Colton Wright earned the victory, giving up four runs and eight hits in 5 2/3 innings. Weinfurter finished up the game, striking out two and giving up two hits over the final 1 1/3 innings.
Weinfurter was 3-for-4 with two RBIs and two runs scored, and Logan Willfahrt also had two hits and scored twice for the Apaches (2-2, 1-2 Marawood South).
Auburndale plays at Northland Lutheran on Thursday.
