Western Wisconsin shuts out Wisconsin Valley Union girls hockey

SOMERSET – The Western Wisconsin Stars scored three times in the second period and went on to shut out the Wisconsin Valley Union 4-0 in a nonconference girls hockey game Thursday at the Somerset Ice Arena.

Izzy Johnson scored twice, and Ashley Jensen had a goal and two assists for Western Wisconsin (12-10-1).

The Union were outshot 34-20 in the loss, dropping to 8-15 this season.

Issie Wojcik had 30 saves in goal for Wisconsin Valley.

The Union wrap up their regular-season schedule against Beaver Dam on Friday at Ice Hawks Ice Arena in Stevens Point.
