MARSHFIELD – The Columbus Catholic softball team scored at least one run in 11 of 12 innings in a doubleheader sweep of Loyal/Greenwood on Tuesday at the Marshfield Fairgrounds.
The Dons rolled to wins of 15-6 and 19-4 to improve to 9-1 overall and a perfect 6-0 in the Cloverbelt Conference East Division.
In Game 1, Akosua Yeboah struck out five in a complete game while also scoring three runs and driving in two for the Dons.
Izzy Holz, Abby Wojcik and Callie Bell each had three hits, with Bell driving in four runs in the win.
The Dons had a pair of eight-run innings in Game 2 to win via the 10-run rule after five innings.
Shelby Spata swatted two more home runs, giving her nine on the season, and finished 5-for-5 with five RBI in the victory for Columbus Catholic.
Holz also homered and drove in three, and Abby Wojick picked up the pitching win and went 3-for-5 for the Dons.
Columbus Catholic will play Neillsville/Granton at Neillsville High School on Thursday.
