Columbus Catholic rolls past Coulee Christian/Providence Academy in WIAA Division 5 boys basketball regional quarterfinal

MARSHFIELD – The No. 1 seed Marshfield Columbus Catholic boys basketball team had little trouble in its WIAA postseason opener, rolling to an 88-22 win over No. 16 seed Coulee Christian/Providence Academy in a Division 5 regional quarterfinal Tuesday at Columbus Catholic High School.

The Dons rolled out to a 60-11 lead by halftime and cruised to the win.

Kaleb Hilgemann had 16 points and Charlie Moore added 13 for Columbus Catholic, which had 15 players hit the scoring column in the victory.

Columbus Catholic made nine 3-pointers and held Coulee Christian/Providence Academy (0-19) to just seven made field goals.

The Dons (23-2) will host No. 9 seed Loyal (12-13) in a D-5 regional semifinal Friday at 7 p.m.
