Columbus Catholic softball rolls past Regis

EAU CLAIRE – Columbus Catholic poured on nine runs in the top of the first inning and never looked back, cruising to an 18-5 rout of Eau Claire Regis in a nonconference softball game Monday at Gelein Field.

The Dons added multiple runs in the third through fifth innings as well, ending the game via the 10-run rule.

Katelyn Casperson had three hits, and Abby Wojcik and Akosua Yeboah both had two hits for Columbus Catholic, which improves to 4-2. Yeboah drove in four runs and Wojcik three in the victory.

Yeboah also picked up the pitching win, allowing five runs in four innings with two strikeouts.

Columbus Catholic hosts Owen-Withee for a Cloverbelt Conference East Division game Tuesday at the Marshfield Fairgrounds starting at 5 p.m.
