Columbus Catholic boys place third, girls eighth at Edgar Track Invite

EDGAR – The Marshfield Columbus Catholic boys finished third and girls eighth at the 10-team Dr. H.A. Schulz Track & Field Invitational on Monday at Edgar High School.

Cadott won the girls team title with 124 points, with Wausau Newman Catholic a close second with 121. Columbus Catholic ended up with 45.

Edgar took the boys title with 204 points, with Newman second with 119 and Columbus third with 73.

Aubrey Waldhauser won the pole vault (7-6) and placed third in the high jump (4-10) to lead the Columbus Catholic girls.

Azariah Hoffman added a second-place finish in the pole vault (7-0) and Dakota Hannasch placed fourth in the 300 hurdles (48.55) for the Dons.

Seth Roewe had a pair of runner-up finishes for the Columbus boys as he placed second in the 800 (2:15.63) and the pole vault (10-0). Lucky Laessig also placed second in the discus (118-9), Mason Edwards tied for third in the high jump (5-4½) and the 400 relay team of Jackson Bernitt, Cade Jansen, Mason Edwards and Devin Phillips placed third in 49.93 seconds.
