WISCONSIN RAPIDS – Cole Irish scored first for Marshfield, but that’s all the Tigers could muster in a 3-1 loss to Wisconsin Rapids in Wisconsin Valley Conference boys hockey action Tuesday night.

Irish scored on assists from Bobby Leggon and Bo Howard at the 8:45 mark of the second period.

Rapids got a goal from Zach Campbell with 48 seconds to go in the period, then added two goals in the third period – by Jake Bord and Dan Janik – to finish off the win and the season sweep of the Tigers.

Mac Alboreo had 16 saves in goal for Marshfield, which outshot Rapids 33-19 but scored just the one goal.
