Auburndale baseball shuts out Newman Catholic

AUBURNDALE – Nathan Richardson struck out 11 in a five-inning complete game effort to lead the Auburndale baseball team to a 13-0 win over Newman Catholic on Tuesday, completing a two-day Marawood Conference South Division sweep.

The game was played at Auburndale, with Newman Catholic serving as the home team.

Richardson allowed just three hits and did not walk a batter for the Eagles, who remain perfect at 6-0 overall and 4-0 in the Marawood South. He also had two hit and drove in three runs in the victory.

Asa Soppe had two hits and four RBI, and Ayden Raab added three RBI in the win.

Auburndale will host Tomahawk on Thursday and travel to Chequamegon on Friday for a pair of nonconference affairs.
