Marshfield girls basketball team clinches share of Wisconsin Valley title

WESTON – The Marshfield girls basketball team clinched at least a share of its fourth straight Wisconsin Valley Conference championship by defeating D.C. Everest 55-41 on Friday night at Everest High School.

The Tigers improve to 15-3 overall and 9-0 in the Valley, leaving them three games ahead Wisconsin Rapids with three conference games remaining. Everest falls to 7-10 and 4-4 in the Valley.

Marshfield’s Eleni Seitz scored 22 points and grabbed six rebounds on a solid shooting night. She made 8 of 14 shots from the field and was 6 of 7 from the free-throw line.

Taylor Varsho added 14 points and Alyssa Brenner chipped in 11 for the Tigers.

Marshfield hosts Wausau East in its final regular-season home game Tuesday night at Marshfield High School.
