MADISON – Stratford wrestlers Mark Marquardt and Luke Radke earned spots in the Division 3 semifinals with dominating performances Friday afternoon at the WIAA State Individual Wrestling Tournament at the Kohl Center.

Marquardt (32-7) toppled Vince Cardarelle (39-12) of Ozaukee by major decision 9-0 in his 152-pound quarterfinal match, earning a spot in Friday night’s semifinals.

Marquardt, a senior, will take on Tucker Pittz (38-1) of Mineral Point in the semifinals. He has also guaranteed a medal and can finish no worse than sixth.

Radke (35-6) whipped Mark Lemminger (45-3) of Johnson Creek by pinning him in just 57 seconds to win his 189-pound quarterfinal match.

Radke moves on to face Ron Skuja (32-6) of Peshtigo in Friday night’s semifinal. Radke topped Skuja 10-7 in a semifinal match last Saturday at the WIAA Division 3 sectional meet at Shawano.

Marquardt and Radke are looking to become the first state individual champions for Stratford since Matt Bauman and Shawn Kitchner each won titles in 2003.
