Loyal keeps Columbus Catholic softball winless

MARSHFIELD – Jenna Fulwiler held Marshfield Columbus to two hits to lead Loyal to a 20-4 win over the Dons in a Cloverbelt Conference East Division softball game Monday at the Marshfield Fairgrounds.

Loyal jumped on Columbus pitcher Katelyn Welsh with four runs in the first inning and three more in the second. The Greyhounds put the game away with a 10-run fourth inning.

Welsh walked 13 and allowed 12 hits, and the Dons committed six errors behind her.

Fulwiler was 3-for-5 and had three strikeouts and eight walks on the mound to earn the win. Caitlynn Weinfurtner also had three hits and two RBIs for Loyal.

McKenna Immerfall and Tori Schlagenhaft each had singles to account for Columbus’ two hits.

Columbus (0-4 overall and Cloverbelt East) plays a doubleheader at Augusta on Tuesday. Loyal (4-1 overall and Cloverbelt East) hosts Neillsville for a twinbill.
