Columbus Catholic softball still searching for first win

GILMAN – The Marshfield Columbus Catholic softball remains winless after dropping a pair of games to Gilman in a Cloverbelt Conference East Division doubleheader on Thursday.

The Pirates won 9-3 and 12-2.

Gilman improves to 4-2 overall and in the Cloverbelt East, while Columbus drops to 0-8 overall and in conference play.

The Dons were held to five hits in each game. Elizabeth Manlick had three hits in the opener, including a triple, and added a single in Game 2. McKenna Immerfall had two singles in the second game.

Katelyn Welsh suffered the loss in both games on the mound for Columbus. She walked seven in each game, and had four strikeouts in the second game.

Columbus hosts Neillsville on Friday.
