Owen-Withee comes back to beat Columbus Catholic softball

MARSHFIELD – Owen-Withee came back from a three-run deficit, using a seven-run third inning to pull away and defeat Marshfield Columbus Catholic 17-11 in a Cloverbelt Conference East Division softball game Thursday at the Marshfield Fairgrounds.

Columbus led 5-2 after the first inning only to see the Blackhawks (4-11, 4-10 Cloverbelt East) score seven in the third, three in the fourth and four more in the sixth to cruise to the win.

The Dons fall to 0-16, 0-15 in the Cloverbelt East.

Elizabeth Manlick was 3-for-3 with two RBIs and four runs scored to lead the Dons’ offense. Shawna Rhodes was 3-for-5 and Tori Schlagenhaft added two hits and two runs scored for Columbus.

Columbus plays at Neillsville on Monday.
